Nicolas standing in front of the Roman Colesium My experience abroad enhanced my career goals in ways I could not have imagined before going on this program. My career goal is to become a sports journalist/broadcaster and we did so many things and made connections with so many people that could help me achieve that goal on this program.

One experience that sticks out to me is meeting former sports journalist John Henderson. He spent many years doing sports journalism in the U.S. then eventually moved abroad and is now a travel blogger of sorts. After talking with him, I realized that my life could very much end up like his since we seem to have a similar love for travel as well as journalism, particularly sports journalism. I learned a lot from him by just getting to ask him questions and I would not have had that opportunity if I did not go on this program.

This program also very positively affected me on a personal level. I met so many great people that I will share a bond with because of this program and made so many amazing memories with them while we were abroad. We even took weekend trips to other cities and countries together which made our bond grow stronger.

Being away from my home country for a month also helped Nicholas standing with another student in front of fountainme grow more as a person. I learned how to travel on my own as an adult among other things that have made me more well suited for adulthood. Maneuvering a major train station like Gare du Nord as a 19 year old tourist is an experience I will never forget, for good and stressful reasons.

Overall, this was the greatest program and experience of my entire life and I hope that future programs I have can even be half as fun and informative as the one I was lucky enough to experience earlier this summer.
