To my surprise, Panama City exceeded all of my expectations, boasting a lively atmosphere similar to bustling Miami, complete with towering skyscrapers and the strong humidity.

The highlight of the program was definitely witnessing the operations of the Panama Canal firsthand. Observing colossal ships navigating through intricate locks left me in awe. It was a stark reminder of Panama's indispensable role in the global economy.

Throughout our explorations, we encountered the intriguing duality of Panama—a developing nation adorned with cutting-edge technology. This contrast was particularly evident during visits to logistical centers such as DHL, Tocumen Airport, and J. Cain, where we gained insights into Panama's logistical capabilities. However, it was our visit to the Port of Balboa that left a lasting impression on me. Surrounded by towering cargo ships, witnessing the choreographed ballet of loading, and unloading operations offered valuable insights into the dynamics of international trade.

Exploring both the Pacific and Atlantic coasts provided a comprehensive understanding of Panama's geographical significance as a bridge between continents. Additionally, seeing the bustling atmosphere of the free trade zone highlighted Panama's pivotal role as a global trading hub. While my time in Panama was highly educational, I still think this program will go down as being some of the most fun I have ever had. Each night everyone from my study abroad group, all 10 of us, went out and tried somewhere new for dinner. I loved getting to try all sorts of new foods and learn all about my fellow classmates and Spartans. I built long lasting friendships, and we shared endless laughter at dinners and late nights at the pool.

Looking back at my time in Panama, I am grateful for the invaluable experiences, friendships, and memories made. This program wasn't just about sightseeing—it was about diving headfirst into a new culture and having the time of our lives.
