Interim Housing Fees

JCMU-provided housing is typically available for continuing students between consecutive programs or terms for an additional fee.

Continuous housing is always provided between JCMU's fall and spring semesters at no additional cost for continuing Academic Year (or Kalamazoo ICRP) students.

Between other terms or programs, JCMU housing is typically available for students continuing onto the next consecutive program or term, but interim housing fees will be applied:

  • Spring Semester to Summer Short Program (in May): ¥2,800 JPY per day, charged directly to the student in Japan by the JCMU Hikone Office.
  • Summer Intensive Japanese Language Program to Fall Semester:
    • $20 USD per day, assessed along with the student's USD invoice if the student commits to the Fall Semester program on or before June 1st of the year of participation.
    • ¥2,800 JPY per day, charged directly to the student in Japan by the JCMU Hikone Office, if the student commits to the Fall Semester program after June 1st of the year of participation.
