JCMU considers the health and safety of students to be the bedrock of a successful study abroad experience, and as such, it is one of our top priorities. While no organization or institution can guarantee the safety of participants, the risks can be significantly reduced when students are well informed, and prepared. The web pages in this section of the website are meant as a guide for a safe and successful study abroad experience.
In addition to reviewing the health and safety information on the JCMU website, travelers should also:
Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP), a free service to allow U.S. citizens traveling abroad to enroll their trip with the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate. International students should check if their local embassy/consulate offers a similar service and should take steps to enroll.
