Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic JCMU study abroad programs and office operations have been modified.

Program Modifications

  • JCMU has resumed in-person, onsite study abroad operations in Japan beginning with the 2022 Semester Japanese Language & Culture program for the Fall 2022 / AY 2022-23 terms.
  • Applications are open for Spring 2023 and Summer 2023.

Office Hours

The current public office hours for the  JCMU East Lansing Office are:

  • Tuesday: 9am - 3pm 
  • Wednesday: 9am - 3pm
  • Thursday: 9am - 3pm

*We recommend calling the JCMU main phone line (517-355-4654) to confirm staff availability before traveling to the JCMU East Lansing office, as sudden changes in availability may occur.

Members of the JCMU staff may be available in-office outside of these hours by appointment (Tuesday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm). Please contact us to inquire about staff availability for a particular date/time or to schedule a meeting.

Advising

JCMU offers advising appointment options for students, parents, and others wanting to learn more about JCMU and its programs. A combination of remote (via Zoom or Phone) and in-person appointments is available using the advising scheduling tool.

Risk Assessment Process

JCMU will continue to monitor the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in close consultation the JCMU Executive Committee and the Michigan State University Risk and Security Assessment Committee.
