Students participating in JCMU language and culture programs are able to engage in numerous cultural activities and field excursions while in Japan. These activities engage students with the local community and give them a better understanding of Japanese culture.

This past spring, students took a cooking class with local volunteers, made sleds with local children and visited a Ninja town. Many of these activities are made possible through the generous support of the Japan Business Society of Detroit (JBSD) Grant Foundation.
