  • The MAU approval form and COVID-19 international waiver request form are no longer required for MSU international travel. This includes faculty, staff, registered guest or non–Education Abroad student travel.
  • All MSU-sponsored travelers must register the travel in the MSU Global Travel Registry and, as applicable, submit a Request in Concur. Please refer to the MSU Manual of Business Procedures, Travel Policies & Procedures.
  • Travel requests to elevated or extreme risk destinations must be submitted three weeks in advance of the departure date. This travel is subject to additional review by the Office for Global Health, Safety, and Security (Global Safety). Global Safety may prompt the traveler to complete an online travel waiver as well as refer the waiver to FASTR or RSAC.
  • MSU-sponsored travelers are eligible for MSU-provided international travel health insurance and support from the Office for Global Health, Safety and Security.
    • A new quarantine coverage benefit has been added to MSU's international travel health insurance for travelers directed to quarantine by a physician; please review complete coverage details.
  • Travel to campus from an international location does not require Global Safety approval.
  • For details regarding travel with Education Abroad programs, please refer to the COVID-19 guidance for EA programs and the Office for Education Abroad.
