During our time in Zurich, we explored the city, learned about its culture, and networked with professionals in our industry. We were fortunate enough to visit Deloitte, ABB, and On where we learned what is like to have an accounting or finance career in Switzerland. Getting experience in adapting to a new culture in a professional manner is a skill that will benefit me throughout my career when working in a global environment.

My time in Zurich also had an immense impact personally. As someone who has little experience in travelling domestically, let alone internationally, this program was a daunting endeavor. However, it pushed me out of my comfort zone and forced to learn how to navigate a foreign country. I am now comfortable in communicating with natives who do not use English as first language, navigating new public transportation, and adapting to new cultural customs. Thanks to this experience, I am now capable of traveling the world, and plan on doing such.

Although I am extremely grateful for the professional and personal growth this program gave me, my favorite part was connecting with my classmates. We started the program only knowing each other’s names, and left Zurich as lifelong friends. I am extremely grateful for this program for bringing me closer to my fellow Spartans.

Most of all, I would like to thank you for donating to Education Abroad. In an increasingly global world, it is extremely important for us Spartans to gain experience in networking across various cultures. Because of your generosity, myself and my classmates now have the tools to flourish in a worldly environment. I cannot thank you enough for providing us the resources to gain this invaluable skill.
