- What is engagement? Why is it important? Some examples:
- Engagement between programs enhances student experiences—cross-program collaboration creates synergy. It is an opportunity for the sum of the whole to be bigger than the sum of the parts (1+1=3). AND, we realize the JCMU mission to its fullest extent possible. Examples frequently highlighted by U.S. students include: homestays, kokunai, Wednesday nights.
- Engagement with external constituents (relationship building/networking) helps us to promote JCMU and to create new opportunities. We don’t always know which relationships will flourish, or when. Sometimes opportunities and connections come from unexpected places. What are some examples you have experienced?
